Please help panicking, savings over £6k

I am panicking that I am going to get into trouble.
I knew I had to tell the council tax when my savings hovered over £6k but I did not realise I had to declare it to the DWP as well, as I thought that people in the support group on contributions based ESA did not need to tell the DWP if their savings went over £6k.
They are definitely nowhere near £16k, and I receive a pension every month of approx £540.00
What action do I need to take if any?
Am I in trouble?
I have been in the support group since 2013 and just came across this
www.gov.uk/employment-support-allowance/eligibility
I am single and retired on grounds of ill health and 50yrs old.
thanks for any help

I'm afraid being in the Support Group is not relevant.

If you are only receiving Contribution Based ESA then your savings are not an issue and it does not matter if they are over £6000. This is not the case if your are receiving any Income Related benefits such as ESA(IR).

Have you declared your pension income as this will affect ESA(CB)?

Hi Gordon pension declared.
I'm not sure if I am on contributions or income based esa.
I took a look at my letter and this is how my money is listed.
I'm still unsure if I need to declare my savings as they are over £6k, could you clarify please?
Here is the breakdown on my esa letter:

Living expenses 73.10
Extra cos of s g 36.55
Total income related amount £109.65

Personal health insurance 20.37(pension)

Income related amount is £109.65 less 20.37 so you would have been entitled to 89.28
However because you are entitled to contribution based esa we will pay you 89.28.

It's the income related bit that makes me unclear if I have to declare it or not.
Thanks

These letters are getting worse, if that is even possible!

You are receiving ESA(CB) only. Your pension easily exceeds any ESA(IR) amount that you might be entitled to.

Do you need to purchase a car, or update it? Or perhaps renew kitchen appliances etc... or even need a well deserved holiday.
