Lost PIP was created by wolfchile
I am in state and not thinking clearly and physically being sick. I have just found out I have lost my PIP. I had a review after a face to face assessment. I was on Enhanced Daily living and Standard living. I put on review form things had got worse due to now having Cataracts, COPD and hearing loss and need more help to go out and carry out day to day tasks. I was receiving PIP for mental health reasons.

I only found out I had lost PIP after receiving Hosung Benefit Notification letter and they told me I had lost it. I had already asked for assesors report after assesment, but they said to wait until I had received letter. I have asked again today and they said to wait until I had received decision letter. They also said if I make MR to put in medical evidence whereas I supplied a whole raft of this with my PIP review form.

I wanted to ask do I wait for decision letter and start MR without assessors report which I may never receive? Also do I try getting more medical evidence which costs money to get copies and I can't think what else I could provide as I got lots of letters already.
Finally my wife claims ESA for us a couple. She gets PIP enhanced but will we lose Severe Disability premium. Does she have to tell anyone or is it done automatically

Sorry to hear this.

There really is no reason why they should not process your request for your assessment report now, given that claimants can request it at as soon at the face to face is completed!

You have one month from the date of the Decision for the DWP to receive your MR request, so you should receive it before you need to make the request, but if the worst happens, don't wait for it, get the request in on time.

The PIP Appeal guide explains about the process and the PIP section also has template letters that you can use.

You don't need to provide extra evidence although it can sometimes help, but if you are going to have to pay for it then make sure that you are getting value for your money. It may be that your existing information is more than adequate but has been ignored by those doing the assessment.

Be prepared to go to appeal, although we do regularly see members getting the Decision revised at appeal, it is not common. Success rate at appeal are far higher.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Hello Gordon

I have finally got the copy of the decision letter not to award me PIP and the assessor report. When I received it on Saturday it was dated 2nd May so already losgt ten days before I received it. I was on Enhanced Rate Daily Living and Standard Daily Living. I was awarded it 2 years ago and this was a review. I used to have lifetime award of DLA

I couldn't find any template letter on B&W site, so I just wrote it myself, then I received report. It is very badly written. He basically says the assessor doesn't feel there is nothing wrong with me apart from being 'malodourous' and nothing a good wash won't fix. I have hearing loss and have a hearing aid and tinnitus. He hasn't even awarded me a point for this as 'he doesn't feel I need the hearing aid.' I have been seen but hospital who diagnosed hearing loss and have tinnitus. I have cataracts and experience blurred double vision and violent headaches due to eye strain. He says he doesn't believe it is as bad as i say. I have PTSD and he made light of this. I am treated at hospital and have schizophrenia. He has made light of the fact I have been seen by Military Veterans service by saying ' this is something an individual could refer themselves to not a consultant' but I have seen a psychiatrist and psychologist.

I have a package of care from social services to help me engage with people. I can't go out because of mental ill health and hallucinations. I also have COPD and arthritis. He says I don't need social support to go out, and yet I came to the interview with my support worker who provides social support. I've been so ill that after writing my letter I lost it all as I am so tired and not sleeping.
I can't take no more. I've provided all the medical. - evidence don't know what else to do?

Have you made a request for an MR? If not then there are template letter in the PIP section under Appeal Submissions that you can use to do this.

Your latest post seems to be a good basis for the request as you detail your conditions and the support you are receiving and why you are receiving it, which seems to be at odds with what the assessor has written.

If you now have the assessment report then there should be an indication of the assessors qualifications, it would be worth your checking these to see if they have a background in mental health issues.

That said it is not your conditions that are being assessed, but the problems they cause you to have with completing the PIP activities, so are you happy that you have properly explained your problems and show that you meet the Descriptors to score points?

Be prepared, revision rates at MR are low and you may need to take this to appeal where the success rates are much higher.
