For the last few weeks I have been convinced I've been followed I've seen the same guy in shops and at the end of my street I've noticed two different cars parked with someone on their phone , one of which is in his 40s dressed in office wear and I'm 98 % sure it's the same guy I see in the shops they have no reason to be down my culdesac and they weren't obviously not visiting anyone , I've mentioned it to my carer and it's hard when u suffer with paranoia to distinguish . Anyway I have an over night carer most days that hb are aware of as I get a room allowance for this , well she has come round and said they was a man dressed in office wear walking out side her house and then went round the back her Josue is detached and he was taking pictures she then followed him away and took a pic of the car he proceeded to get in and then got on his mobile phone .... it's one of the cars that keeps parking at the end of my street and in the pictures she took its the same guy I keep seeing in shops etc , I'm worried , my head feels like it's going to explode and I'm scared to go anywhere what can I do ?

Two things.

Both of you should report the matter to the police as you have (I assume) the car registration number they can find out who these people are.

Secondly, get face to face advice, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.

It's possible that they are actually investigating your carer rather than you, but this will put you back in control of what is going on.

Hi yes we have the registration number , would they be investigating my carer if they don't claim any benefits ? I'm sorry if I sound stupid but what would contacting welfare advise do ? Can they find out anything ? And what would I say to them ?

I can't comment about your carer, I'm just pointing out that it might not be you :)

If you are being investigated by the DWP then it will be in connection with your benefits and either your entitlement of your personal circumstances, we can provide limited support on the forum for these issues which is why I am suggesting you get additional support in place now.

This is about getting access to a trained advisor if you need it, most agencies operate a triage system, where less trained staff deal with the majority of claimants, you will need to get past these to see the people that you will actually need to speak to..

Just explain what is going on, you believe that you may be being investigated by the DWP and you need help if this proves to be the case.
