PIP medical abandoned was created by Mousetrap
I attended my Pip medical and the examiner abandoned it after the musculoskeletal exam made my to chest flare up making me produce mucous and become very breathless. I was unable to do a peak flow test which was next and I had to nebulise. I didn't get to the walking test. I was being transferred from DLA and was on high rate mobility and care indefinitely. The examiner said he would send off his report along with the additional evidence I took along and that I would hear between two weeks and eight weeks time.

I'm not sure what to think and how it will affect the outcome. This was my second DWP medical in 11 years and the last one which was for incapacity benefit was also abandoned after doing a peak flow and I was left alone after that until the ESA transfer which was decided on paper based evidence.

It's virtually impossible to read the result of an assessment by how it went, we've had members coming away thinking they have had the best assessment possible only to receive no points and others who thought it could not have gone any worse and received Enhanced for both with points to spare.

You should be able to request a copy of the report by contacting the DWP office dealing with your claim.

PIP Decisions are taking 2-4 weeks at the moment.

Thank you for replying Gordon but I wondered if you know what happens when the assessment has to be abandoned, how do they come to a decision?.

There's abandoned and finished early, it sounds to me that the assessor did not need to collect any additional evidence for their report.

I got my result today. I was awarded enhanced rate for daily living and mobility for an ongoing period. The best possible outcome. Thank you mods for your very helpful guides and advice. I can finally relax.
