2nd mandatory reconsideration was created by merlin
i recently recieved the results of my first mandatory reconsideration, this time got standard rate mobility still no care component, i was told by a dwp supervisor because there was a change from the original decision, i could go for a further reconsideration to look at the decision again.
now i am being told that is not the case, and my case was closed within the 28 days i was told i had to go to a further reconsideration. i have found obstacles at all levels from the assesors report to papers going missing to results letters not beieng sent that show on there computer system as being sent, phones calls that i made and recieved not being registered on there system .
i cannot stress enough how important it is to keep a exact record of any dealing you might have with the dwp or the assesors and if possible have someone with you as a witness,
and ask for the name of the person you are dealing with, if they refuse to provide it ask why.
i am into my 6 month now of contesting the dwp desision, i have no doubt is has impacted on my health as my recent hospital visits have increased. Being an old sceptic i believe there is no consideration of the impact on people who suffer from cronic illness being put through the grinder.

If you can, be strong and go as far as you can, and above all dont give up.

You don't say how long it was since you received the Mandatory Reconsideration Notice?

If it is less than a month then you can request an appeal, if it is more than a month then you can request a Late Appeal where you need to explain why your request is late, the DWP saying that a second MR could be done may be sufficient.

Our PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

So you have until 20 May for the Tribunal Service to receive your appeal request.
