I'm sorry but I really don't understand the issue!

On one hand you make a phone call to the DVLA and ask and on the other you risk your car not being taxed properly, your insurance invalidated and significant financial loss if you have an accident.

Judy wrote: I've got this exact same problem too, only I googled "Is my car taxed" you have to put in your the number and it tells you. I was told yes it is.

But I'm still going to re tax it anyway. It's only 50% tax on standard rate.

Of course it will be, the DVLA have no idea that your entitlement has changed.

Not sure if you will be able to tax your Car ( Again ), if it is already taxed......My Car shows up as being taxed till next March too, and I have the reciept to show that as well. This is quite confusing actually.......

I did phone the DVLA, and they told me the Car is taxed until March next Year, and I explained my circumstances about P.I.P.......and the reply I got was...Unless we hear different from the DWP, its O.K.....so I asked if I could tax it anyway, and was told NO....otherwise it would taxed TWICE in that period......Very Confusing Indeed.....

Guys

If it is was me and in the absence of any written guidance to the contrary, then I would update by car tax, but you have to make your own decisions on this.

I agree with you Gordon, and I am going to go to a DVLA office on Monday next week with ALL my correspondence, and sort this one out once and for all as my Wife's P.I.P. actually stars from that date. I don't want to take a chance on it either....Thank You......

BTW.....I phoned the DWP this Morning and asked for a M.R......and just to be certain, I've just sent a M.R request by 1st Class Recorded Delivery with some supporting evidence, after studying the Health Assesors Report for a few days. So I've taken your advice on that matter as well.....Once again Thank You for your help.....Fingers Crossed now, methinks.........Roy.....
