PIP for 4 years till age 65 was created by chafur47
if a Tribunal awards PIP to claimant from Nov 2016 to Nov 2021, and claimant reaches the age of 65 in 2021, can claimant renew PIP to extend beyond the age of 65? Question is based on the law as it stands. Would it not be safer to challenge the end of the award in 2021 and request for ten years instead?
My own personal views are that if the tory government wins the GE, more cuts will be applied. And if my awards end aged 65, there may not be a mechnism to renew or even start a fresh PIP application. Whereas if the award if for ten years till age 70, it may be easier to retain.

Claimants receiving PIP before the age of 65 can continue to receive it after the age of 65 as long as they continue to meet the criteria for an award.

I've posted replies in the other topics that you have created today about this matter but to summarise, based on what you have said there is little if any opportunity for you to challenge the length of the award.
