How long until you hear appeal has been lodged?

Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find the answer anywhere, assuming everything is ok with your SSCS1 how long roughly does it take to hear back from the Tribunal Service that your appeal has been accepted and lodged?
It's an ESA appeal if that makes any difference, gone from Support Group to Fit to work because I was told my previous medical evidence and reports which they hold on file had been reviewed when they hadn't.

I took my sick note in to the Jobcentre yesterday as it was my signing on day for JSA and they didn't like it, was told I'd have to make a new claim for ESA, I told them I was appealing & had posted my paperwork and mentioned the 13 weeks sick on JSA and was told "that could take weeks to come back", "you still have to look for work even if your Doctor has provided a sick note" "it doesn't matter what your Doctor says he doesn't pay your benefit" and "don't dictate to me, I'm the one that works here." Seriously! I only MENTIONED the 13 weeks sick and I got a tirade.
I've read that it can take a week (or maybe it said more) before the paperwork reaches the benefits centre from the Tribunal Service and you are switched back from JSA to ESA at the assessment phase but the way the guy reacted yesterday I'm starting to worry. He said he would send the sick note off so the benefits centre would have it today and I'm worried they are going to balls up or close my claim or something, they've messed up everything this far so I wouldn't put it past them.

Have I done the right thing?
Will it take weeks for my appeal to be accepted (assuming everything is ok)?
Do I still have to provide evidence of my job search activities if I've provided them with a sick note?
Do I still have to attend to sign on whilst my sick note is in date (they are saying I do)?

(I know it's a 'Fit Note' these days but I refuse to call it that.)

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

Just to confirm, you have had a Mandatory Reconsideration which left the Decision unchanged?

I would expect the Tribunal Service to respond in 7-10 days.

Thanks Gordon. I did try looking through the FAQ sections but couldn't find the answers I was looking for.

In answer to your question, yes I've had a MR, if you can call it that. I requested a copy of the full assessment report & stated I would give my reasons for disagreeing with the decision & would send further evidence for the MR once received but instead of sending the report they did the MR & sent the MR Notice with the report. Go figure!
Called them to make sure they were aware they'd carried out the MR without my reasons & evidence and they said yes they were happy, decision unchanged, proceed to Tribunal if I want to.

They messed up my JSA claim, ESA ended 30-03-2017, went to Jobcentre 04-04-2017 at first I was told my appointment wasn't until the 6th even though it had been changed, I got seen, left, got a phone call the next day to say they hadn't got me to sign a form & without it my claim couldn't be processed, despite going in & signing on my claim didn't get processed until 21-04-2017, they had a go at me last week for not doing enough to fulfil my claimant commitment which I knew nothing about because they had completed it and never gave me a copy. I sat in the Jobcentre yesterday for my appointment, waiting for half an hour, 10 minutes before they were due to close the woman who checked me in notices me comes over & tells me the person I was due to see has gone home! Then I get the grief off the guy. And I found out this morning they haven't been paying my housing costs & when they originally transferred it across from ESA to JSA someone did something wrong so it was set at the wrong rate anyway. Complete and utter balls up!

So now you can perhaps see why I am worried about the guys comments and handing in that sick note. At the moment it seems like if they can muck it up; they will.

The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.

Once your appeal has been accepted and the DWP have been notified you can ask to be placed back on ESA at the assessment rate. You will need to provide Fit Notes to enable payment.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
