PIP Assessment was created by Coddie
Well I had my DLA to PIP assessment yesterday, I took someone with me who's a experienced Adult and Pediatric Nurse who also works as an expert witness. The assessment was strange the person conducting it hardly looked at me preferring to sit typing on the computer while firing qustions at me. Some of them like can I walk the length of 2 double decker buses, how far can I walk in a minute I found difficult to answer, I haven't been on bus in more than 25 years and I found this to be my only response. From my postion I could see that she didn't enter all my responses to questions, it seems that she chose to "edit" the information I gave. My companion made extensive notes so we'll be able to see any differences. The physical exam was described by my accompanying nurse as ineffective, a good description, the assessor asking me to copy her arm movement and barely touching me when asking to resist finger pressure. All in all it has convinced me that this transfer is nothing more than a hoop jumping exercise with outcome decided on how the targets are being met. I'm not expecting a good outcome, so will use the brilliant guides I've downloaded to go through the next stage of reconsideration and appeals. But by hell I'm not giving in.

PIP Decisions are taking 2-4 weeks at the moment.

You should be able to request a copy of the assessment report by contacting the office dealing with your claim.
