PIP Lifetime Award was created by Philip
I was waiting for my appeal hearing date and had sent further evidence to support my appeal and out of the blue I had a phone call from DWP asking me would I accept the high rate mobility and standard rate Living as I was awarded standard rate on both and I would have to drop my appeal if I accepted .I refused as how can they accept half of my further evidence and not the other half along with the fact I was also appealing the length of the award .The call went on for over 45 minutes and I told them I would go to appeal as if I accepted the offer I would be back to where I was last January if I wanted to appeal the daily living and back of the appeal list and I did not want to go through the mandatory reconsideration again ,it finished with DWP accepting that I wanted to continue with my appeal and that I turned down the offer .The next I heard in less than a week was a letter with high rate on both and a life time award so do not give up and fight but what annoys me is that lies in the medical assessment and that the person who undertook the medical is doing them. I had to pay fees to obtain medical evidence which if DWP had done this in the first place it would have I may have not had to go through months of worry and lose my car and loss of money although I eventually did have my correct award I still feel that the way it is carried out needs sorting out at DWP and ATOS as they just dismiss claimant's and treat them disgracefully .

Congratulations on the award, the DWP would not have changed it if the evidence you submitted for the appeal was not convincing, so well done.

forgive me but I did not think they did 'lifetime'awards for PIP, and thought the closest to it was what they call an 'ongoing'award.

Which is what I assume was awarded.
