PIP success and a home interview was created by Wisegirl61
I have just been changed from DLA to PIP and because I am housebound they sent a lady from a company called Altos to do my face to face interview. She was here about 2hrs and was very thorough & very nice. I was already received the High rate for Mobility & the Middle rate for care but really felt that my care rate should be the higher one. I received from PIP award letter two weeks later stating that they were giving me Enhanced rate for Mobility and low rate for Care until 2020. I contested this award as I explained to them, I needed the higher care rate for the extra help I now needed. They listened to what I had to say but have just received the latest letter stating that they were sticking to their original award as they didn't feel I warranted the Enhanced Care rate. I'm not very happy with this decision but there's not anything else I can do about it now so have had to accept it. I want to thank everyone there for the tips that helped with my original application & what to expect.

Congratulations on the award, well done.

If you want to pursue the Mobility award further you do have the option of requesting an appeal.

I'm sorry you didn't get the Enhanced care. I suppose if you were middle rate DLA it could have gone either way as no middle rate on PIP. If you feel your PIP application showed a significant decline in the care section, it may be worth an appeal. Did you ask for the report your assessor will have done? If not, phone and get it as it may include reasons why you didn't get enough points for care.
