Thanks that's interesting. So they ignore all my problems really for support group even though I've been found unfit for work by my employer and my pension scheme. I've looked through the work related activity. I don't travel alone due to seizure risk. I have pip for this and my specialist says I should avoid work as it better for my epilepsy but they won't pay me. Ah well but it's worth a try anyway. Thanks for your help.

Hi again. Have spent a lot of time with my husband going through the booklets and think some of the mental health parts may apply to me as I have a brain injury. I have scar tissue from my haemorrhage and radiotherapy which causes my cognitive and memory problems along with my having epilepsy. It is a combination of these. My OT report and Drs reports say this but HP has not taken this into account and I haven't on my original form I'm afraid. I have also been treated for depression and my sick note always included work related stress. Also today I got a txt from dwp saying they have started my MR. This is before I have sent in any further information. All I did was send a letter asking them to extend the deadline until I got their information through and if they couldn't to take it as a request. Should I call them again and ask them to wait or just send my extra info in. We have nearly finished it. Thanks again for your advice.

To score points for questions 11-17 it needs to be due to a specific mental illness or disablement, so be very careful of explaining the underlying cause of your problems

If you didn't include these problems on your ESA50 then the DWP may disregard them, they take the view that the first documents that a claimant send in are going to be the most accurate, a Tribunal will take a broader view of your problems.

So really what you mean is it's not worth changing any of my answers on my form at this stage MR stage. I did give them lots of info but I'm afraid they have just gone by my form answers. The HP assessment was poor for cognition even worse than the pip assessment but atleast they actually did something and took my evidence into account. My fault I suppose but this form is confusing to say the least.

I'm not saying not to send the information, just warning you that the DM may not take it into account, but if you don't send then they certainly can't.

Thanks Gordon your advice has been very helpful. It's been a tough couple of years. Didn't expect to end up out of work again but the dept are not good disability emp and disability confident is a joke I can tell you. They don't practice what they preach. I ended up with no support from my managers and they couldn't get rid of me quick enough. I would have been fired but luckily got ill health retirement although they didn't want to give me it. It's not a very big pension. Not enough to live on but I'm better off than most. I'm afraid working in this department has changed.
