receive DLA (Lifetime) but now need house help was created by barali
Have cognitive problems and difficulty in following texts - need help with knowing how to progress a claim (if I am entitled) for help around the house. Am 69, diagnosed MS 1980, now have inflammatory osteo arthritis and chronic migraine. Fatigue and cognitive problems ++ with MS. How should I apply for this help? I live with my husband and we do have some savings. I receive DLA mobility allowance at the highest rate.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

I realise you have said that you have problems dealing with large amounts of text, but at this time all I can do is refer you to our claim guides.
The first question is whether you were under the age of 65 on 8 April 2013 or not?
If you were then reporting a change will result in your being invited to claim PIP, if not then your DLA will be reassessed.
PIP has significantly different criteria from DLA and has been deliberately engineered to be more difficult to award so you should have a good read of our PIP Claim guide to make sure that you have a reasonable chance of an award. See

If it is for DLA then as you are over 65, you can only receive the Medium or Higher rate of care, so you need to understand the requirements for these, see our DLA Claim guides
