Hi junta question, my daughter is on dla she's been on it since a baby due to been hearing impaired. She is suppose to wear hearing aids but you are constantly putting them back in even though shes11 .
My question is she got a diagnosis of autism in 2011 alongside having severe learning delays. Has no sense of danger runs /walks off on own, doesn't look when crossing the road just walks across. Can't read or write can say her name but wouldn't be able to tell anyone where she lives, no sense of strangers. She will run off or sit down and remove to get up and walk. When I got her diagnosis I rang dla up to say they was a change in circumstances , but due to family issues I
Forgot to send it back. I sent it back last year after ringing them up to say how bad she was when you take her out and her dangers. I came back saying change in circumstances but when I looked at the next sheet it was the Same , high rate care low rate mobility . I understand she can walk , but I feel that they haven't even added her autism on to it
Can I try and re claim for high rate for her, due to how she is outside with danger. When she's not at school she won't always wear her hearing aids so everything to him is muffled in sound etc. As she's. Getting older she's getting worse. I'm getting that I can't take her out on my own, plus I'm not very good with my help. I'm struggling with her, don't have any help.

DLA Higher Rate Mobility is only awarded because the claimant is unable to walk or is considered to be virtually unable to walk, it is not awarded for the severity of the claimants problems.

I'm afraid, based on your post, the current award would seem to be correct.
