Hi
Can anyone tell me for mandatory reconsideration I know you have. A month to ask for mandatory reconsideration to submit your paperwork but does the month start from the date you get your award on the letter or from the date. You ask for it

Thanks

It's a month from the date on the Decision Letter, you can make a Late request outside of the month, but if the DWP do not accept your reasons for the request being late then they can reject it and claimants have no further right of appeal, that's why we push members to make the request within the first month.

Hi
About mandatory reconsideration I know you said it's a month from date of letter but if I asked for mandatory reconsideration over the phone within the time does all the paperwork have to be in before the end date or can you send the paper work in after that date reason I am asking is I asked for m r within the time but the person I spoke to from. Dwp said that you have up to 30 days after asking them to submit any more paper work

Thanks monky

If you have said that you will be sending additional information then the DWP should allow you four weeks to do this. I see that they have given you 30 days! Make sure that the information is with the DWP before as soon as possible and allow time for postage.

Hi Gordon
I am doing this mandatory reconsideration for the time in between assessments as I have had 2. Assessments and 2 reconsiderations and a tribunal all in the last 2 years so and even though most of my conditions are long term they are still saying I should be seen after October next. Year when I thing I should be awarded it for longer as they have all the evidence form consultants doctors ect, I am asking them. To consider a longer award as most of my conditions are long term not expected to improve yet I am going through this process every year which is ridiculous the only thing that could change is i the surgeon and consultant would give me a shoulder replacement which as of yet they don't want to do that so I am asking that they look at mobility part of the pip process as far as planning and following a unfamiliar journey but am not sure after reading things that it only applies on mental state or if I am understanding the qualifying criteria correctly I do have depression but I would argue that because of all my illnesses And being awake most night so I am constantly tired and The pain medication and chronic pain keeps me up all night would have a big impact on not being able to consentrate or focus on anything for long enough and it would be dangerous for me to be on my own or issues that are more mental state though I do suffer from depression and have a physio therapist that knows I can't do it alone and would argue that being in chronic pain and unable to use my arms and would not be able to use public transport will. I qualify for the criteria for or that also I wouodnt be able to not use a sat nav if it wasn't for sat nav i wouldn't go anywhere at all my main argument is that that because I have several things with chronic pain and the fact I am awake most nights because of pain and. Also. The medication I am on would affect me being able to do this as it wouldn't be safe for me to do it on my own without someone with me also that when I am in pain I can't focus or concentrate on anything it affects my memory the majority of the time eno that I couldn't concentrate when i am in constant pain and tired all the time and. Agitated on quite a lot of pain medication so no I couldn't focus long enough to plan and follow a unfamiliar journey not only without another person coming with me not sleeping pain medication and pain that keeps me from doing it because I couldn't do it safely reliably and without someone with me for the majority of the time as often as needed to and it would be dangerous for me as I have had many falls but not sure if I would qualify for the points?

Thanks monky
