Hi I would like to ask you something about my nephew if that's OK if not it's fine. He was in Afghanistan resulting in ptsd . He's applied for pip and is due for a f2f assessment and has requested a home visit but they have refused because he put on the forms he can be aggressive he can be mouthy but would never be physicallyour aggressive and he doesn't feel he can travel the 12 miles to the assessment centre. Any advice would be welcome .

A

He certainly won't get a home assessment without the support of his GP, he will need them to write to the Assessment Provider (AP) to explain why he cannot attend at their offices.

However, even this may be insufficient if the AP is concerned about him being aggressive to the assessor, even if in reality he would not be, the AP has a duty of care to their own staff not to place them in danger and this may prevent them from offering an assessment in the home.

He can also try contacting his MP for assistance.
