DLA to PIP was created by moonshakra
I been on DLA 15+ years for my MS, higher rates on both parts. Went for medical in March to change to PIP. Got lower rate care, enhanced rate mobility. Lodged mandatory appeal but no change to decision.

At the moment not been working past 4 years due to relapse and depression and anxiety at its worst. I don't like leaving the house or even speaking on the phone. I could not go to the next stage and go to court as I'm not strong enough at moment. Feel very let down. Sent my mobility car back as need my income more. My past 2 house moves (rented) have been very bad, not of my fault, and been forced to move. I'm very low and at rock bottom. This PIP seems to be different in parts of country. Any info or comments greatly appreciated.

Be aware that DLA HRC is awarded for fundamentally different reasons than PIP Enhanced Daily Living, so pursue the matter because you believe you should have scored the 12 points rather than because of your previous award.

You can make what is called a Paper appeal, where you do not attend a hearing, the success rate tends to be lower, but we regularly hear from members that they have been successful despite this.

If you want to take the matter further then the PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
