Have submitted a mandatory appeal, was told it would take 4-6 weeks. My partner rang yesterday, and was told that there is no time limit, sounds like it's still sitting in the ever increasing pile.
This is such a stressful time - my main claim is mental health related, but since the start of the recall a year early, have been in hospital twice with chest pains. I am so stressed out by this all. Not sure I can go through the appeal stage. I know they will decline me at mandatory appeal stage. Just a game to them, that I cannot play.
Is anyone having the same issues.
Thank you

You do have the option of asking for a Paper hearing that you do not have to attend.

Hi there,
Have got to submit appeal, as Mandatory was no different, they agreed 0 points for everything! Is it better to go in person, or is the Paper hearing different?
thank you

The success rates for an Oral hearing that you attend tend to be higher than those for a Paper hearing, that you do not need to attend.

We would always recommend a claimant attends if they are able to, unless their doing so would argue against the reasons that hope to receive the benefit, for example they have Agoraphobia or Social Anxiety or a similar condition.

The PIP Appeal guide has links to the SSCS1 form that you will need to complete and the Submissions guide has a complete example that you can use to help you fill it in, you do not need to provide detailed reasons at this stage for your request.

Once your appeal is accepted the DWP will prepare their submission to the hearing and send you a copy, whilst you should wait until you receive this to finish and submit your own, you should start to prepare your own case, an increased award will only be made by your showing that you score the extra points for one, so I would start by going back through your PIP2, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to see how you might show this is the case.

Hi there,
Have had the court bundle today for the appeal. It looks very scary.
What are the success rates at the moment, I feel like pulling out, very
anxious.

The last statistics published put the success rate at 65%, there is no breakdown between Oral and Paper hearings.
