I need to contact DWP regarding my ESA as they haven't replied to a letter I sent them regarding a personal finance query.. I really dont want to phone them, as I get anxious doing so, that's why I sent a letter. I'm also worried that if I do, this might put my case on one of those "query on your claim" lists or write comments on communication ability, meaning further stress. Have you had similar queries?

I'm afraid your options are limited to phone or the post, the DWP won't accept emails.
How long have you been waiting? It can easily take a letter 10 days to reach the right department.
You could have someone phone on your behalf, you would need to be present for the call to answer the security questions and to authorise the DWP to talk to the person.
Other than that all I can suggest is you write to them again.

Hi Gordon. We wrote in March to them. We sent it registered post and we have a copy of the signature received on the very next day. As it probably didn't fit into a standard letter reply, it may have been filed. If they say they haven't received it and we say you have as we have proof, that will annoy them.

No they won't get annoyed that you have proof of delivery, the people you need to talk to are physical separated from the delivery address, so they are used to this type of problem.
Can anybody phone on your behalf?
