ESA - RE-Assessment was created by MrFibro
Hi to all,

Finaly after a 60 week wait, im finaly going for my ESA Reassessment!

As my health conditions have deterorated considerably for the worst. I phoned up the DWP, and explained to them that my original esa50 form was over a year old. And that the info that had was outdated, as it doesnt reflect my now deteriorated health.

They advised me to send in as much updated relevent info to Maximus prior to my reassessment if i could! if not they should read it at my assessment.

DWP also asked me to send a copy of that info to them too! which i have done.
I also phoned up maximus and explained this to them, they said the same i should send in info to them preferbly before my assessment.

I have now sent of quite a bit of updated information both to the DWP + MAXIMUS. via recorded delivery.

The information has arrived last week and was signed for by both parties. i have the royal mail receipts and tracking info and signatures. Just in case they say they never recieved it.

My question is this! Should i phone up Maximus and ask if they have passed the information onto the assessor who is going to assess me, this week?

now if they have say have not done so. that means surely technicaly they should not assess me on the day. as they have not passed the information onto the assessor. given the fact they have had a week to do so.

Would they rearrange for another date, after the assessor has read all my updated information, that the DWP said they should had done so?

Im asking this because theres noway the assessor is going to read through 20 pages of information on the assessment day?

The MRI scans alone are realy for the attention of a specialist surgeon to digest and to come to some conclusion. So im worried the assessor wont be experienced enough to deal with such technical terminology in my MRI report.

Finaly should i cancel the appointment for another appointment, hoping the assessor has received my updated information etc. so it would be better and fairer for both of us to be both on the same page.

Otherwise im left to a disadvantage. this was exlained to the DWP. Hence them requesting i send maximus and the dwp the information via post before the assessment.

kind regards for reading

MrF

I don't think that it can hurt to contact Maximus to check whether the information has been passed on.

Whatever they say I would still take a copy to the assessment and ask the assessor to read it before they start the interview and include it in your file before they return it to the DWP. This is covered under section 4.2.5 of the WCA Handbook.

I can't answer as to whether you should push the appointment back. Is this your first appointment, if it is then you do have the option, but if you do then you must attend the new appointment wherever and whenever it is arranged for. To be honest I doubt it is going to have too much impact on them reading the information or not.

Hi Gordon,
thxs for your reply. Firstly i'd like to thank you for you advice on me sending new additional information to Maximus, prior to my Assessment.

So i sent both the DWP + Maximus relevent new updated information, regarding my esa -reassesment. which was 60 weeks overdue.

I have just phoned up maximus to ask if they had recieved the updated info to my original (esa50 form) back in apr 2016.

They recieved it. and told me ve no need to go for a F2F in the morning. As the assessor said the information was sufficient, and was enough evidence for me not to attend a F2F.

They have been in touch with the DWP , and i will recieve a letter of them in a few days.

Im so relieved, i imagined had i not phoned them up, id had gotten a call of them 2moz morning, or sent back home @ the assessment centre.

Either way what a relief.

Does this mean the assessor is sending the esa85 report to the DM ?

I didnt quite understand the girl @ maximus.
does it sound positive ?

thxs for your valid advice:)

Mr F

Yes this is a positive thing, you cannot be found Fit for Work without a face to face happening.

The assessor will be sending the DWP an ESA85A report.

ESA Decision are currently taking 2-4 weeks.

Thanks Gordon,

I cant express how overjoyed i am, of not having to attent 2moz. But more relieved i havnt got to put my mother through it all again. shes suffered enough and gone through 3 appeals with me.

I shall wait until i get i hear from the DWP, then i shall phone up and ask for the esa80, as obviously i need to know what the assessor had reported to the DM.

Once again thanks for your advice.
