I filled in an ESA50 to renew my husband's award at the beginning of February. It is now 5th July and we have heard nothing. I want to ring DWP to ask what is happening, but my husband, who has a number of mental health problems, bi-polar being one. really can't take additional stress and wants to ignore it (no news is good news). Does this sound like a usual amount of time for ESA renewal consideration? Many thanks.

There are still considerable delays in the ESA assessment process and waits of six months or even longer are not unusual.

There's no point in you contacting the DWP as they are not involved in this part of the process, however, you can contact Maximus for an update.
