PIP, ESA and UC convergence was created by twinkerzzz
Hi
I'm currently transferring from DLA to PIP. My ESA is support group currently due for re-assessment around Nov/Dec 2017 but to add, my area will be transferred into UC from Feb 2018.

Could you clarify the following:
1. Previously with DLA application, certain answers to certain questions or points not//attained could trigger an ESA assessment. Are there any questions in the PIP form which can trigger an ESA assessment ?
2. I currently get DLA award
standard mobility
enhanced/higher care
If either of these categories alter or fail to qualify, and the final PIP award is different to my current DLA award, can this change trigger an ESA reassessment ?
3. Is it likely that my ESA award currently due for reassessment in Nov/Dec 17 - will wait the extra couple of months until Feb 18, the UC transfer start date for my area, and go straight into a UC transfer event ? If it doesn't will i face a 2nd reassessment when UC arrives or does ESA/PIP/HB just get moved into UC without assessment ?

Thanks for your attention - much appreciated.

1. It would be very unusual for a negative PIP award to trigger an ESA reassessment, but areas to be aware of are the two Mobility Activities, Communicating, Reading and Mixing with Other People and possibly Managing Toilet needs although I think the criteria are too different.

2. I doubt it but cannot guarantee it.

3. No I don't think so, February 2018 is looking unlikely given the current rollout. There should be no need for reassessment as the criteria for "old" ESA are exactly the same as "new" ESA,
