We are now off to appeal - what I would like to ask though is on the form SSCS1 (section why we are appealing) do we give a thorough explanation and supply all the evidence or should we wait to see the response from DWP?

You only have to give your basic reasons for the appeal on the SSCS1, once you have received the DWP submission you can provide a more detailed response, although I would not wait for the DWP to send this to start work on your submission.

We have now had the response for the tribunal from the DWP - quite harsh as expected. We still haven't had a date through for the tribunal yet though - could you please advise what we should be doing now in preparation for it? Many thanks

You now have an opportunity to consolidate all of the information previously supplied and to address any outstanding issues raised by the DWP and the assessor.

So I would start by going through your claim form, the assessment report and the PIP Claim guide to make sure that you meet the criteria to score points. Think about the issues in the report and whether you need to address them, try and stick to dealing with ones that directly related to your scoring points and matters of fact rather than the assessors opinions.

Are you happy that you have made appropriate use of the reliability terms and "on the majority of days"?

Put your thoughts down on paper, electronic or real, and then organise them so that it will be easy for the panel to read them and understand what you are talking about. The Appeal submissions guide has a sample submission.

Your papers need to be with the TS no later then seven days before the hearing and you should receive at least two weeks notice, so try and send everything in in one go, rather than piecemeal.

They are quick to tell Mobility as they want to stop paying them as soon as possible and get your car back asap. Please phone the Mobility people as they are nothing to do with the PIP people and they might let you keep the car a while longer whilst you challenge your appeal.
I am in same situation, I was 1 point away from keeping my Mobility car, so obviously we are going to a tribunal and they Mobility people let me keep the car an extra month. But sadly my car has gone as the PIP people are dragging their heals and taking ages giving me a date!!!
My illness is worse than it was last year and My Doctor can't believe that the assessor blatantly ignored everything they were told and refused to write half of what she was told down, hence my dramatic change in benefits. Saying I was able to move in my assessment when she never even touched me!!! Luckily I had a representative with me to clarify it.
My solicitor is now on my case and thinks this site is fantastic and was well impressed by what I was quoting from the pages on here!!
I wish you all the very best in you fight and I hope it works out for not only you but us all in our battle with these ignorant idiots!!
