Baffled but so relieved was created by Dribble
Hi Gordon
I'm lost for words, I was originally sent letter offering me a home visit by capita which was great but the date wasn't good for me , long story, so I phoned and asked to be sent another date, but they stated it probably wouldn't be a home visit and the capita employee intimated that if I can get to hospital apts I can get to a capita office , not taking into account what I go through to undertake such apts etc, so under your wonderful guidance I sent letter from GP stating my immobility and that I'd need a home visit, but it fell on deaf ears, and I received letter in post requesting me to attend capita offices this Monday coming, so I resigned myself to being the case, and I'm sure you've already gathered my anxiety over this!! However , low and behold and much to my great relief I've just had a phone call from a capita employee stating that my apt has been cancelled for Monday and I'm to receive a home visit now as I'd requested,it's to be in a few weeks time. I'm gobsmacked I asked why it had been changed, and he just said it was because I'd requested a home visit and he stated that Monday had been cancelled,. I'm over the moon, but is this the done practice? I've read of apts being cancelled last minute but not a turn around of venue? Should I be concerned for any reason Gordon? Thanks in loo dribble x

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I would write a short note about what has happened and send it to the DWP office dealing with your claim.
Make sure that you include your full name and National Insurance Number.
I would also be tempted to phone Capita this afternoon to confirm that the appointment has been cancelled.

Always best to tell the left hand what the right hand is doing, just to be on the safe side!
