IDOPATHIC CHRONIC PANCREATITIS

Hi I'm 27 year old female, 3 children and suffer with chronic pancreatitis, I take daily morphine which is soon to be changing to the patches as I'm still ending up in hospital at least once a week. I don't claim for anything like this at all I usually just get on with it. However because my hospital stays are more frequent then what they were I can't expect people to look after my children for free every time. Also not only that I've had to stop my lessons, I'm loosing weight rapidly like there's no tomorrow, due to this condition I'm scared to eat anything, I don't go out anywhere either. I'm in hospital as I write this and I was only supposed to have been going shop to get my children some sweets. The simplest of things I just can't do. I have a few questions regarding filling in the form for pip though, am I filling it out based on my worst day because my worst days are actually in hospital not at home. I do have a lot of help from my friend who is a nurse. But she's got children herself so I'm also looking for some extra help with doing the normal day to day things I would be able to do on a good day on my bad days, please note I do not drink, have never been a heavy drinker, and don't own a gallbladder anymore I'm idopathic (cause not known) thank you in advance xx

Hi Panky and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

The mods are not officially on duty at the weekend, that is why you have not had a reply yet.

Please don't fill in the PIP forms referring only to your worst days - this will leave you open to accusations of fraud. The benefit is awarded, or not, depending on your condition for the majority of times. This is explained in detail in our PIP guide, as is the situation with fluctuating conditions, so I suggest this should be your first port of call. Then come back to the forum with any specific questions.

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
