ESA assessment deferral was created by Dart
I have been in the Support group since 2013 when I was transferred over from IB. It was done on paper. The prognosis was for 2 years but the reassessment ( due 2015) was deferred for 2 years until September 2017. I telephoned 2 months ago to have this date confirmed.
I phoned DWP this morning to be told " there was no reassessment date " and then said "you will get a questionnaire in 2 years, 2019". also mentioning that I was in the support group which apparently was relevant.
So deferment is happening at the moment for some people.I am in the Support group for severe mental health grounds and I live in Derbyshire ( if one's address is relevant). I am 10 years from retirement age.
Is any pattern for deferment emerging?

To be honest there is little information, we seem to be the only site that is really reporting on this, even RightsNet the site for Welfare Rights staff is not really commenting.

Hi Dart,
I am in a similar situation. My October 2015 reassesment was defered for 2 yrs.I rang a few days ago & was told there is no date on file for my next reassesment even though it would be due October 2017. I will ring them again next month and let you know what they say. I hope like you that it has been moved forward.

Does this occur with a deferral : a few days after my telephone call to DWP ( when I was told about my ESA deferral) I received another standard uprating letter mentioning "after recent changes" as always occurs in these letters. I had already received the regular new financial year one in May.
I still don't trust DWP not to trigger a reassessment now though. I am recovering from an operation at my partner's house 30 miles from my own and am relying on a neighbour to check my post. If I was sent a new ESA50 would it arrive in a brown (DWP) or a white (assessors) envelope? Is the envelope A5 sized? I live in the East Midlands. Interestingly a member posted a couple of weeks ago about long delays in processinghis PIP and ESA claims in this area.

Thanks Mylady for replying.I will be interested to find out what DWP say when you next ring them. What area are you in?

I would expect the envelop to be A5 in size but cannot guarantee what colour it would be.
