Thanks

They did this when PIP was first introduced but it's now only sent out if there are still issues with the content after the call.

Hi moderators,

I am deaf in one ear. When taking a shower is it fair to say that you need supervision because if a fire started you would be unable to hear the smoke alarm ?
(Safety and Supervision ruling)
And what about if you dont always get supervision.
Are you considered unable to do the activity safely ?
This question relates to PIP2 questionnaire.
Thank You.

Dear Moderators,
I am so sorry, I previously posted and I forgot to ask, with regards to planning and following journeys, when it comes to distress been caused to a deaf person, would said person have to have the hearing loss in both ears ?
I understand that for PIP, points may be scored for this activity if it is a physical condition.
Thank you again.

Al you can do is make the argument, you don't say what your hearing is in your other ear? The DWP will consider your total hearing (e.g. both ears).

You don't need to be receiving the supervision to score points but you must clearly identify the requirement for it.

I guess the obvious question is whether you suffer distress when out?

If you do then you would need to explain why this is the case, without an understanding of what you total hearing capability is it's difficult to offer more detailed advice.

Thanks Gordon,
My other ear seems fine, for now.
But if I have problems scoring for this I was thinking of arguing that with having OCD and Chronic Anxiety, I become panicky when showering for example, as I cannot hear anything. Having supervision can calm me.
What do you think ?
Thank you very much.
