Hello, I have had a letter to invite me to attend the Jobcentre to meet my new Work Coach.
At the bottom of letter it says Mandatory.
This is someone new, not my usuual Jobcentre Disability advisor.
Please tell me what this entails ?
Many Thanks.

It's likely that this person has replaced your usual JC+ advisor, so my best guess is that the meeting will be very similar to the first one that you had at your local JC*, likely differences may be that this advisor will want to agree an action plan of things you could do to prepare for a return to work.

Thank you Gordon,
The Rheumatoid Arthritis has gotten worse over the past year - my shoulders are now affected = very painful. Went to GP at first as not sure cause - she answered - definately RA. ( upped the meds again and Codiene which makes me sleepy ).
Claiming DLA low rate care - still waiting PIP form. Was reading back of DLA form - they say to report any changes in health conditions. Do I write to DLA and tell them now of change in health conditions or wait until form arrives as per our area = Southern England ?
Many Thanks Gordon.

If you notify the DWP of a change in your conditions then you will received an invitation to claim PIP.

I can't tell you that you don't need to notify the DWP, but they are usually a lot less interested in a claimants conditions worsening than them improving.

Thank you for being so straight Gordon. Greatly appreciate it.
I shall just wait for the PIP claim form to arrive then.

Just returning to question I asked re Work Coach - My last Disability Advisor eventually understood RA and just rang me for updating her over past year. This new Work Coach has post me an appointment to attend the Jobcentre to see him. So you say he'll want to work out a programme to do in prep to return to work ? Going through it all again ? The interview workshops, talks and volunteering ? Despite the decline in health ?
Does he have a record of my history ? If so, how long does it go back ? Years ? Is it all on their PC system ?
Do they relate info to one another ?
Or do they start afresh ?
It's just so stressful this current benefit system.

Many Thanks Gordon.

The JC+ staff only have limited access to your computer record so it does not include, for example; your medical history and anything related to your assessment. I'm less clear as to what information can be accessed by one advisor from another but I suspect, even if the information is recorded that they will start from scratch again.
