PIP MS,Patient DWP backed down pre Tribunal!? was created by Keith
I could go on and on with dates, assessments, phone calls made, re considerations(3times) and the 3 consecutive and confusing letter that followed each other, but fair to say whatever was tried and twisted they've given my hubby Keith the enhanced rate for an ongoing period....whatever that means?!
Strangely enough the 3 extra points he did need to get to the 14 living component were add ons to exsisting points and not new points to those that were awarded 0? This I will never understand because if I add up what I thought he should of been awarded just for the living, I come up with 24 and those are across the board not isolated to one or two components of the questionnaire?
Without going into the whys and wherefores, it's been a bit of a hard slog and a case of holding my nerve despite the shadowy threats from the DWP. I say I, as Keith's wife who has carried the torch for him in attempt to protect him from all the stress and worry that would bring on another very unwanted episode affecting his health. Thankyou too, to this wonderful site and forum who pointed me in the right direction and gave me the balls to fight on. Thanks in no small part to David at the Burton-upon Trent CAB who spent 2 hours early with me compiling the tribunal application, of which I the end was not needed but then again I think it was because just the application was enough to send us the DWP letter that was dated 2 weeks ago and what I think had been held onto......just in case.
So don't give up, fight on, it's such a great feeling to win!
PS. Can someone explain to me what an "ongoing period" is or will mean to us and the DWP?

Congratulations on getting the original Decision revised.
An on-going award is as close as PIP gets to an indefinite award, what this means in reality we will have to wait and see as PIP has only been in operation for four years, but I would certainly not expect him to be reassessed for at least ten years and it may be much longer.,
