PIP TIMESCALE AND RESULT was created by DPMC
I have been in receipt of DLA Higher Rate Mobility since 1979 (originally called Mobility Allowance) and DLA Lower Rate Care since 1992 having had face-to-face assessments in 1979, 1980 and 1981. I was asked to apply for PIP in December 2016. I sent in my PIP2 Form on 2nd January 2017, had my face-to-face assessment (at home although did not request this) on 5th July 2017 and received the Decision Letter (dated 27th July 2017) yesterday. I have been awarded Standard Daily Living and Enhanced Mobility until 2027. Obviously I am delighted with the result but wish I was not disabled and was not eligible to clam the benefit - I would rather be fit! After the assessment, the assessor did indicate that she would recommend an on-going award as my condition will not get any better, but she did not indicate what award that would be. Thank you to everyone at Benefits and Work for their help. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the Forum as I have learned a lot from reading their questions and the answers from the moderators. Good luck to all those people who are still going through the DLA to PIP process.

Congratulations on the award and well done.

I agree the award is a bit of a Catch 22, great to have but wish you didn't need it in the first place.
