PIP claim and evidence was created by Sloggie
I was asked to claim for PIP after having an indefinite award on DLA. I sent 35 pieces of evidence along with my application form. After waiting 4 months after submitting it all I was given a home assessment. I then gave another couple of pieces of evidence at my assessment. After an hour of questions & a few physical tests, the assessment process was over. I didn't know how it went, but felt that the person conducting the assessment wasn't really listening.
I was told my decision would take another 4-6 weeks to come through. 4 weeks & 1 day later I got the dreaded brown envelope. Thankfully I got enhanced on both parts. Although again I don't agree with how the points were issued, some parts scoring zero points where my evidence given & seen should have scored points. My partner told me to ignore what they put & be happy we got the result that I deserved. I on the other hand is annoyed that something's was overlooked & some points were not issued correctly.
On assessment I would say make it clear what you can't do. Take as much evidence as possible to support your case, even statements from friends, support workers, doctors etc.
Good luck to all who is going through this transition.
