Excuse me if this has already been asked, but I have a question about backdating payment. I have been in WRAG ESA (IB) since 2012 In January last year (2016) I sent off my third ESA 50 and heard nothing back on paper until July this year 2017 informing me that as of June 14 2017 I have been placed in the Support Group. This is of course great news, but my question is, should my extra payments be backdated to the time of sending in the ESA50? My payments increased from June 14th 2017 but there has so far been no back payment. There was no explanation of why I had been moved to the Support Group so I am assuming it was based on information I sent them over a year ago. I am very relieved at the decision, but at the same time annoyed that I have lost out on over £1000. Thanks for any advice, others' experience
The new ESA award will date only from the new decision. Otherwise, when DWP reduce an award on reassessment, we would have claimants potentially owing large amounts of overpayment.
