Mandatory Reconsideration was created by Sairs
Hi everyone,
I've received my mandatory consideration notice today after sending in 6 pages of additional information and it's come back the same: Standard rate for both.
I now need to appeal this decision but I would like to ask for some help please because I really don't know what else I can tell them. They are taking my car away which will leave me isolated and unable to get out on my own. I'm at breaking point now and wondering if I have enough fight left in me to carry on. I'm looking into ill health retirement because I'm struggling with work and I'm so very exhausted.
If anyone is able to help me through the appeal, I would be extremely grateful.
Thank you
Sarah x

Hi Sarah,

I am sorry, but not surprised, that the MR went against you. It is uncommon for them to do anything other than 'rubber stamp' the original decision :(

There is a link to the form that you need to initiate the appeal in our PIP guide. You do not need to give a lot of information at this stage.

When you get a copy of the DLA submission, you will then have a better idea of what to argue against and can do your own submission.

If you don't have any new information or evidence that is fine, just point to where you have already shown how/why you meet the descriptors.

While you wait for the DWP submission, I suggest you do through the PIP guide with your copy of the PIP2 form and make notes so that you are all set up and ready to go.

May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your appeal without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
