ESA Appeal

I have my appeal for ESA removal from Support Group and put into Working Group on 21st August and I am so scared of getting it wrong. I suffer with walking and also severe depression, anxiety and panic attacks which set off debilitating migraines which I end up in hospital with. I have read the manuals on this site but I start to panic and feel that I'm going to get it all wrong and not put my case properly. I wonder if someone can give me some pointers please

Hi, as your appeal is imminent, are you saying that you have already sent in your submission and want advice about the day itself? Or are you saying that you have not yet done your submission? This has to be with the Tribunal Service at least 7 days before the hearing, so you only have this weekend to get it done if that is the case

In either case, the first thing to do is to read our ESA guides so that you understand the Support Group descriptors that you hope to meet. Then you should think about how you can show this.

Hi, thank you for getting back to me. Yes I really need advice for the day, I have sent all the paperwork to the court. I just would like to know what to expect. I have read the docs you suggest and although helpful I am not sure if I should speak myself about the pointers or give them in on the day as I have mental as well as physical problems. Thanks again

The Appeals panel will want to ask you questions so that they can understand your limitations in relation to the ESA descriptors.

Have you seen this video that explains what will happen on the day? You might find it helpful (it talks about 'ATOS' but the tribunal will be the same even though ATOS are no longer involved).

I've had a look at the video and its been helpful to see as I have been imagining all sorts and getting myself into a right state. I will let you know how I get on but thanks for your help and I hope I'm up to it on Monday

I want to thank you, I had my appeal today and was successful, I have been put back into the support group for 2 years. She did say that it's not guaranteed that ESA will wait that long before assessing me again. I will be ready with the medical information next time.
