Pip Award 2 year mobility was created by wowlocal
Hello everyone, I have been awarded 2 years for mobility and this is the first time I have claimed for PIP. Do I need to have a 3 year award to claim for motability?

Congratulations on the award.

I believe that Motability will accept any award of a year or more, but be aware that your current award is likely to be reassessed a year before it's end, so you need to factor this in before making an application.

Would it be worth asking for a Mandatory reconsideration or leave it for now? My disability is long term even though the HP did not mention this in the report. I was also awarded standard rate for the daily living component.

Although the length of award does form part of the decision, we have not heard from anyone who has been successful in getting this changed. Don't forget that an MR can result in your award being reduced, so you should think very carefully about this.
