Hi I've just paid the £20 just to ask for help and clarification on the following I'm really hoping you can help I've been messed around and confused

Ok so I did my AR1 for pip - submitted detailed answers and detailed evidence
My issues are
Bipolar
Anxiety
Social phobia
Personality disorder
Ptsd
Prolapsed discs
Sciatica

With a request from my MP I was given a paper based assessment and I recieved 15 points for daily living and 8 for mobility - same rates as my previous pip award but two extra points for ratings dm drinking

Theirs a charity that charges for doing MR and I've been hanging around waiting for clarification as due to my anxiety and social phoebia I don't go anywhere without my cpn ,support worker or informal carer - my cpn letter specifically says " she does not leave the house alone due to overwhelming psychological distress"
I got 4 points in ten planninga nd undertaking a journey for prompting. In my AR1 I wrote even though they had been no change I did not appeal due to the trauma of the previous assessment leading to a decline in my mental health but believe I should have scored more points "and went on in detail , my doctors letter and cpn letter said the previous fave to face caused me a lot of trauma so supported a paper based assessment .
The company that were meant to do the MR have said " the law has changed descriptor F means it HAS to be a cognitive impairment that prevents u from planning and undertaking a journey and NOT psychological distress" I know they changed the law to exclude psychological distress but isn't their a 10 point question that is for " cannot undertake any journey due to overwhelming pschological distress?" Is she rich in what she's saying has to be cognitive impairment ? She said I wouldn't gain anymore points because of this , is she right? Pls pls pls help I'm so confused and running out of time

So just to clarify you scored 4 points for the Going Out activity and four points for the Moving Around one.

So you are hoping to score for

e. Cannot undertake any journey because it would cause overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant. 10 points.

You are correct that this is not effected by the changes that occurred in March and it most certainly is not a requirement that any limitation needs to be the result of a cognitive issue.

I know u can't tell me what to do but based on what I've said my issues are do u think I have a good chance ? Or it is applied more strictly?

So the Descriptor is

Cannot undertake any journey because it would cause overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant.

It has two requirements; that you cannot go out and that the reason for this is that doing so causes you "overwhelming psychological distress".

You can argue that due to the requirement for you to be able to complete the activities reliably that "cannot" does not mean "never" but the standard you will need to meet will be higher than the normal "majority of days". So do you go out and if you do, under what circumstances.

If you had to go out can you show that your would experience "overwhelming psychological distress"? This is defined as

“Overwhelming psychological distress” means distress related to an enduring mental health condition or an intellectual or cognitive impairment.

This is much more than might be covered by the term anxiety and is normally associated with conditions such as agoraphobia or social anxiety or phobia.

So explain the problems you have going out, why you have these problems and how they effect you if required to leave your house.

Thanks for ur reply , my evidence does clearly state I have social phoebia as well as a number of others I'm just trying to weigh up if I should do a MR , I don't want to put my current award in jeopardy , meaning I don't want my current award to be lowered , I know u can't tell me what to do ,but I rarely go out in the past 6 months I've left 3 times alone when I was experiencing a hyper manic episode of my bipolar, and on average 1-2 days a max I manage to get out but always with someone with me - I have a support worker who was allocated by the community mental health team he's been working with me for 4 months and not been able to get me to leave the house , I get into that much of a mess I can't function . When I have left the house with my informal carer it's been at daft o clock when we no it's going to be dead ,I've been discharged from physio cause I can't get to the appointments it was all listed in my form as well as my doctors letter - my cpn meets me at home - it takes days of prepping to get to my psycho Therapy - I don't always make it and he's aware of this so it's going to be going on for quite some time -I don't no what to do :(
