DLA to PIP was created by Davie65
Hi,
I've been on DLA for 22 years and last week got the invite to claim PIP (I've also been in the support group of ESA for 4years without a medical) can I use the decision letter for ESA as added information for my pip claim.

Thanks
Dave.

Hi Dave,

Yes, you can use your ESA letter as evidence but don't forget that you should link it to the PIP descriptors. The criteria for the 2 benefits is actually quite different, even when they seem the same.

Hi,
will do. Thanks for the reply Mrs Hurtyback

One other thing actually, are the ESA reassessments delayed? I was placed in the support group for 3years or so I thought as it has been 4 years since the decision.

Thanks

There has not been any official announcement about ESA reassessments but we have certainly heard from members who would have expected to have been reassessed before now and are still waiting.

Hi all,
on my pip form I clearly stated that because of my health problems I would need a home assessment but they have sent me a an appointment to go to a consultation centre. This would be extremely problematic. Can I still request a change or as for a PBA instead?

Thanks
Dave.

For a home assessment you will need your GP to write to the Assessment Provider explaining why you cannot attend at their offices.

For a Paper Based Review you must either provide extra evidence and information to fill any holes in what they already have to allow a recommendation with their seeing you or your GP needs to show that attending a face to face would have a significant impact on your physical or mental health.
