My 16yr old has Anaphylaxis to nuts and stings, is lactose intollerant and has IBS and suffers with allergic ENT things.
He has always missed months off school because of his conditions, cannot go out and about alone, and has to watch everything he eats and cannot inhale nut vapours because he can go into anaphylactic shock and die within a few seconds.
Please I need some help and guidence filling out the PIP form to tailor it to his conditions as i don't see these in your notes. Thank you

You can't bring the PIP activities to your son's conditions, you have to bring them to PIP!

He will only score the points he needs for an award by you explaining the problems he has with completing the PIP activities.

He needs to be able to complete an activity reliably and on the majority of days not to score, the terms are defined in the PIP Claim guide.

Thank you Gordon but I do not understand your answer.

If i did not explain properly - even though i will be completing the PIP for my son he will submit it to PIP. PIP is aware of this.

What I need to know is please In a nutshell:

1. Does PIP cover having a condition such as Anaphlyaxis - Severe life threatening Allergic reaction and what it entails to keep safe?
2. if so , how does one go about explaining it when completing the PIP application? As it is not a mental health issue or a physical medical condition? I feel it will be overlooked and not counted or given any points - even though it affects everything my son does on a daily basis!

I look forwards to hearing back from you.

PIP does not consider the claimants conditions directly, but rather the limitations that result from them, so as an example does you son have problems with preparing and cooking a simple meal due to his conditions?

He needs to complete the activities reliably and on the majority of days, so if he cannot do this then you should explain why on the form.

Would help from someone else or an aid or appliance help him complete the activity?

The points he needs for an award can only be earned by your showing that he has problems completing the PIP activities, he will not score due to his conditions.
