Upcoming PIP assessment - advice? was created by Lara
Hi all
I have my pip assessment on Tuesday and I was looking for a little advice:
Since I submitted my form things have changed:
1. I was being treated homeopathically, but that wasn't working so now I am back on different meds having been re-referred to the pain clinic
2. I have had other parts of my condition flare up again that I didn't mention because I had forgotten about them.
Should I bring these up? should I bring something written/typed with this info on it?
Also I even though I find it hard to walk any real distance on a bad day, I don't use a stick (this is because I can't co-ordinate myself to use one and when I have tried its made things worse for me, should I mention this?
Any other general advice?
Thanks
L xx

Hi Lara and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Treat this as your chance to give the assessor anything/everything you want them to know. You can certainly take a note of the things you want to say, for the best result you need to link your limitations to the specific PIP descriptors.
Our PIP guide has a section, towards the back, that explains what to expect on the day
www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. We ask members to keep everything relating to the same claim in one topic as it helps us enormously - and I hope you will find it useful too

Just to let you know - there is no need to worry if your message does not appear immediately, and you do not need to post duplicates. Every message on the forum is read and approved by a moderator before being made public. Even when the forum is officially 'open' this can take some time, depending on how many (voluntary) mods are working and how busy we are.
