I am currently on DLA , low rate mob mid rate care . just received the dreaded brown letter to claim pip, I just can't go through it all, I am not going to apply for pip , ( mental health reasons , bipolar , PTSD , extreme anxiety )
I get ESA which I believe has some premiums,
My question is... If I don't claim pip will I loose money off my ESA , are any of the sea premiums reliant on pip or DLA ?
Desperate for any advice , just not well enough to deal with this
Thank you in advance

Please think very carefully about this, if you don't apply for PIP then your DLA will be closed.

If you are receiving the Severe Disability Premium, usually referred to as "money because you are severely disabled" on the ESA entitlement letters, then this will cease, it is just over £60 per week.

If you change your mind at a later date then you can make a new claim for PIP providing you are under the age of 65 or State Retirement Age (whichever is the later), when you do so.

Thank you so much for your reply Gordon.
I lost the severe disability premium many years ago when I got a live in carer . So only get disability incom guarantee £15.90
And £36.55 for being in support group.
I really wish I had the fight in me to claim pip but it has come at a time when I am skating on thin ice mentally. I have a an 11 year old and I just can afford to go further downhill. Just the thought of having to go through the things that I would need to explain on the forms and the face to face interview , I just can't do it . I will definately struggle financially but I feel I don't have a choice.
Thank you once again

Remember that struggling with money can be just, if not more stressful than making a claim for PIP.

If you do decide not to go ahead then consider making the initial phone call, it will mean that your DLA remains in payment for at least another four weeks.
