ESA face-to-face assessment

Hi All,

I've just had my FTF and for once I'm feeling fairly hopeful that I won't have to appeal, judging by the way the interview went. However, one question that really threw me was,

"Do you wash your hair ?"

I said to the HCP,

"Do you mean shave my head ?"

Before she could answer I told her that I shave my head every few days but I don't see the point in shampooing my head !!

I know it's routine to ask these questions but you would think they would make an exception for somebody who doesn't have any hair !

When you've been reassessed for ESA, obviously you will quickly know if you failed the assessment, but I was wondering if the DWP write to you to tell you that you have satisfied the WCA, or if they just continue payments as normal. I've only every been awarded ESA on an initial claim and always had to appeal for a reassessment.

Has anyone on this forum received confirmation from the DWP that a reassessment has been successful ?

Just an update. I appealed a decision to move me from SG to WRAG after the reconsideration failed, as one would expect.

The appeal to six days, first class, to reach HMCTS, which meant the appeal was late. In these instances HMCTS continue to process the appeal but warn you that the DWP may object to the late appeal.

I received a letter today from the DWP saying that the appeal has been overturned. By this they mean that their decision has been overturned, as appeals can't be overturned, they're either allowed or disallowed, so I'm now back in the SG.

I don't know if anybody else has had an appeal that takes six days through the post but I thought I better warn other appellants to give extra time or guaranteed date delivery.

As we all know, reconsiderations were introduced in the hope that you won't appeal. It seems that they only really reconsider the decision once you've lodged an appeal.
