I wonder when that will be published?

It also states

"Exemption from reassessment would not be based on medical condition. The Government stated: Rather than a list of specific medical conditions, the criteria will be based on identifying claimants with the most severe health conditions or disabilities where it would be unreasonable to expect the individual to undertake any form or amount of work or work-related activity."

I can't help but feel cynical about this.

1. Given that a 'switch off' follows a WCA, interesting isn't it that retesting was accelerated after the public announcement of switching off, and prior to the change coming into effect. This means, as far as I can tell, many of those who ought to be spared the grief, have been processed recently will endure yet another WCA.

2. The 'switch off' is binary. Clearly therefore only the most severe cases will excluded from WCA retests for life. Whilst we don't know the specifics yet, to take an extreme example somebody with severe learning difficulties who is unable to communicate would be put in the SG anyway. From the cynics POV, whilst this is a cost saving to the government, everyone else will still endure the trauma of the gruelling and distorted WCA process.

At this point, it seems like a distraction from the problems of WCA and outsourcing to rogue contractors, and it will provide no relief to a great many ill and disabled people who are suffering through the WCA process.

I read the news item about MH not being covered in the 'risk' category. Some people aren't in that one for MH though. - I think I'm now in the tasks one - doing two or more tasks together?something like that anyway. Just thought would mention that.

Having now read the latest on this from the news section and the included link.
its not clear if,
someone already identified as fitting the criteria from past assessments, when due for reassessment would they then have to go through that reassessment or could they be identified by the HCP allowing the award to carry on.

The guidance requires another assessment to be carried out before a decision on whether the claimant meets the criteria to avoid further assessments.
