Taking notes to a Medical Assessment was created by BingoBill
Hello.

I've got my PIP medical assessment next week and was wondering if I am allowed to take notes of my condition in with me, as I cannot remember all the details about my conditions that I want to say.

I wont read from my notes all the time, but will probably look at them just to help me remember.

Thanks.

You can but try to avoid using them and if you do explain why you are having to.

Best of luck

Had the assessment today. My companion was asked to write her name down on a form at the centre.

She was asked to write her name, my name, signiture and reltionship to me. Which she did.

Are they legally entitled to do this?

I'm pretty sure you can say no. I've had WCA in the past and my companion has never been asked that.

They are entitled to know who is in their building, I'm actually surprised that this request is not made more often for Health and Safety reasons.

The HP was very nice and friendly today, which I know, is generally not a good sign that you're going to get a fair assessment.

They wanted to carry out a small physical examination when I went in, I objected as I said I was in a lot of pain, she said she'll leave to to the end.

She then carried it out, me being the fool I am, didn't object forcefully enough. I have a physical and mental disability.

I told her I was in pain while I was doing the actions she asked me to do. I'm not very hopeful of the outcome, as the last WCA I had, the HP said I did them "without any problem", even though I told him I was in pain whilst doing it.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
