Hi all. I am very stressed as I called ESA line today to give some information over the phone and they told me to send sicknotes and that I should get decision within 2 weeks. I do not understand how it all works if they take answers from PIP or do they send new questionnaire and I think that I suppose to be in support group. I had ankle, knee, hip, hernia and nose operations and was diagnosed with PTSD and stress and anxiety. I also have incontinence of bowel and bladder but I am not sure what to do and how to do it to avoid stress as I had with PIP. I was awarded enhanced rate for PIP living and standard for mobility and walking with 2 crutches. please helpppppp

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

It sounds as if you are making a new claim for ESA, our ESA Claim guides explain the process in detail and also the criteria against which you will be assessed.

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa1

Although the PIP criteria is similar in some areas, the ESA criteria is quite different so you will receive an ESA Claim form and will almost certainly have another assessment.

If you have any more questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

what my GP letter then need to include so I can be sure that I meet criteria for a support group as when I have done test it shows I will be eligible for a support group but I want to make sure that I have all the evidence ready before I see them.

Yes, ideally your GP letter needs to explain why you meet the criteria for the SG.

I checked online on your website by doing a test that I meet criteria but I do not think that my GP will know exactly what the criteria are that is why I was asking.

Then you need to discuss with your GP how you might overcome the problem, just be careful not to lead them to a conclusion, you need your GP to be able to state that whatever they write for you is their words and not yours.
