Yes, you need to give explicit permission for your medical records to be accessed.

Why do you think they have?

The assessor asked question about blood pressure and i could not answer it . she then went into another screen and i saw my medical records up on the screen , when she noticed me looking she quickly closed that screen down ,

I very much doubt that it was your medical records although it could have been something that looked like them, the easiest way to check is to ask your GP surgery, they will have a record of whether a request was made or not.

"Yes, you need to give explicit permission for your medical records to be accessed."

I have discovered today that our GP surgery responds to Maximus' ESA113 requests by just printing off your complete medical history (as recorded on their electronic computer system), and your medication history, attaching them to the ESA113 form and returning it electronically. All done by an admin assistant, without your GP even seeing it or adding to it.

Apparently you consent to this when you sign the ESA50, and apparently all GP surgeries in this area now treat such requests in this way.

Can one ever trust a GP again?
