hi
I have been on ESA for the last 2 years in the WRAG group due to severe depression and anxiety triggered by a personal issue. Using the guides from here and a letter from my doctor I was successful after my last medical. My family were of great support and indeed help me with everyday living needs etc However the medical was a nightmare for me due to my agoraphobia and it really added to my anxiety and sleepless nights. My family requested the WCA to be recorded and another appointment arranged due to this and the fact I would need go be accompanied by a family member.
I have just returned the form ESA50 completed by my brother via signed for delivery and using your newer up to date guide and included the doctors letter used previously (I am getting an updated letter from doctor go forward on as I had to get form back by deadline) .
Obviously my anxiety and worry yet again is escalating of the thought of going through the whole process again. But of course realise its a requirement if necessary.
My main concern apart from the WCA itself is that I had to get form in for the 11th October and looking at timescales Im probably going to be asked for a WCA in Nov or Dec which stresses me even more as December and Christmas time is a particularly anxious time for me because of the anxiety I get over family congregations etc. I'm kind of hoping my WCA is early Nov (I doubt) or after New Year which will not be as bad for me. Tbh my last WCA was not as bad (the actual medical itself and lady we spoke too) it was the crowds of others in waiting room and I was having to constantly having to go outside and take deep breathes to relax. I was Up and down as I just couldn't sit still in the waiting room for long periods. It was awful, even trying to use my CBT techniques I was given to me from a previous therapist didn't help calm me down .
I realise time frames from sending the form back and getting your WCA will vary from area to area, but does anyone have idea of "approximate" time frames ?
Also my brother mentioned to me about the changes to WRAG payment, does this mean even if placed back into WRAG my benefit amount gets reduced ? Or does it remain same as I am being reassessed and already in receipt of the older higher rate?
Thanks in advance and thanks for this indispensable forum and guides.

Most areas of the country are experiencing considerable delays in the ESA assessment process due to the DWP pushing too many claimants through the system, as a result most claimants are waiting months for a assessment, so it could easily be next year before you receive an appointment, however, I cannot guarantee this.

Thanks Gordon for your reply.
sorry I just kinda assumed "re-assessments" were processed quicker than first kinda assessments. I do hope it arrives either quickly (although this will be rearranged as I will requesting a recorded assessment and need a family member to accompany me) or failing that in the New Year. I but can only hold out and see ..

Should I (hopefully) pass the f2f assessment does my rate go down to the new lower level or remain as it is now (I get the old WRAG before this was reduced kinda inline with JSA )
thanks again

No, all assessments and reassessments are treated in the same way and are all in one queue.

If you are reallocated to WRAG your money will stay the same. It is only new claimants who will face the reduced payments.
