PIP Home Visit - but no form first was created by Steve M
I'm currently in reseipt of PIP and have been for a while, but can't remember when it is due to be reassessed. Just received a letter from Capita - quote;

"We have looked at the information related to your application for Personal Independence Payment. To complete your assessment, we will need to meet you face-to-face. Your appointment with a health professional will be at the following place."

It then gives my home address and the date of appointment as 19/10/2017 - so only twelve days time. Is this right? Are they now doing re-assessments based on your previous application?

I have been advised to re-apply by my GP and social worker, but have been too busy dealing with issues concerning the care of my wife to focus on such a complex and exhausting task. I'm also currently trying to complete an ESA50 form that arrive out of the blue.

Do I really have to accept this on top of everything else?

Did you receive and complete a new PIP2 form or an AR1 Review form for this PIP reassessment.

Do you have any choice about being reassessed, I am afraid not! If you don't attend the assessment then your PIP Claim will likely be closed.

Hi Gordon,

I've not filled in any form related to PIP since my first application - which was well over a year ago. I've been receiving PIP but not had anything else from DWP except an ESA50 which I'm still trying to complete.

To top it off I received another letter from Capita this morning, entitled "Initial information pack" which clearly states "You recently applied for Personal Independence Payment. This letter explains what happens next, what to expect and when to contact us" - so should have been sent before the letter detailing my face to face appointment.

Have they gone bonkers?

Contact the DWP office dealing with your PIP claim to find out what is going on, it is extremely unusual for an assessment to be booked without the claimant completing claim or review form.

Phoned the office and explained my situation. She looked into my case and said I was due a reassessment in June 2018, so a review form would have been sent to me in June 2017. I said I hadn't received it and she said I still had to attend.

She said I needed to 'just roll with it' because if I failed to attend I might lose my PIP.

After thinking about it for a while, I checked my computer and found a file called PIP review.txt - dated July 2017.

Seems I did fill a form out - just didn't connect it to an assessment.

Sorry for wasting your time Gordon. Time I got back to that ESA50 form.

(BTW - this is my second attempt to post this update)
