PIP assessment next week - help was created by firemanlover
Hi all,
I've got my PIP assessment next week (have been on DLA since approx 2000 - had to attend a tribunal to get that)

I have a few complex disabilities - heart problems/dyspraxia/CP/knee problems. My main concern is due to my dyspraxia how will I know that the assessor has understood my answers?! Also is the assessment recorded in some way? My husband will be coming with me, but I don't want him answering the questions for me.

Thanks in advance

The PIP Claim guide has a section that deals with the PIP assessment and the questions you are likely to be asked.

If you want to record the assessment then you will need to request permission from the Assessment Provider, you will also need to provide the equipment, you must be able to make two simultaneous recordings directly to tape or CD, digital recordings (for example on a mobile phone) are not allowed.

Your husband shouldn't answer for you, but could correct you if your answers are incomplete due to your conditions.

Just thought I'd update you, my assessment was meant to be yesterday but was cancelled due to 'unforeseen circumstances' on their behalf. It's rearranged for 26th Oct.
Fingers crossed it goes ahead this time. I really cant be doing with the stress, my husband will be attending with me.
