I am sorry but I know this site is not about pensions, but I am due to retire next July and I presume I will be worse of as I get esa at the moment and pip benefit, but when I retire my wife will not get her pension for another 4ys after I retire so my question is do I just get my pension and have to wait another 4 yrs before we will be getting my wifes, she will get her full pension as she has her 30yrs full stamp in, or will we be able to claim anything in the mean time or does the married couples pension still apply like you used to get, I am totally confused and sorry if this has nothing to do with the forum.

John

All I can suggest is that you put your financial details into one of the online benefit calculators to see if you are eligible for any other benefits, possibly Pension Credit.

www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators

Your wife should get a pension statement from HMRC, the new pension requires 35 years of Contributions or Credits.

Wife getting her own full pension we sent in for details and both of us have worked and have paid in enough stamps for full pensions. But unfortunately now not until she is 65yrs old. But anyway thanks very much for reply Gordon and very grateful for all help and time you put into forum.

Did you try checking on one of the online benefit calculators? It is possible there might be something else you could claim (such as Pension Credit?).
