Hi
My husband has written a letter requesting a supersession so that the DWP consider moving me from the WRAG group into the SG based on receiving the enhanced rate of PIP for daily living needs. I kept a log of how my condition affects me and sent it i with my PIP application should I send this evidence in with this letter? I'm including a diagnosis letter of GAD from the primary mental health team along with my latest prescription and sick note. Is there anything else I can do to support this? Thank you

I'm afraid being awarded the Enhanced rate of PIP does not mean that you qualify for the ESA Support Group, what SG Descriptor(s) do you believe that you now meet? You need to provide evidence that supports your meeting these.

Thank you Gordon for replying. The two worse ones are change and I don't social or go out unless I have to because I have panic attacks.

Hi Cecilia,

I suggest you have a good look at the ESA guides, especially the language used in the descriptors you believe apply. You will need to reflect this language when you fill in the new ESA50 form (I would expect your request for supersession to result in a full reassessment, including an ESA50 and, possibly, a face2face assessment).

I've just had my tribunal and was granted ESA WRAG based on 6points for initiating and completing personal actions, coping with change 9 points and appropriateness of behaviour with other people, due to cognitive impairment or mental disorder,9 points. This was based on how I was until last February. Unfortunately they didn't pick up the difficulties I have socially even though I cried through the whole thing. Could I highlight these and together with the GAD diagnosis that these have escalated to 15 points now?

So you are trying to show that you meet

16 (a) Engagement in social contact is always precluded due to difficulty relating to others or significant distress experienced by the individual. 15 points

If you feel that the reports are relevant then include them.
